I wanted a proper loose freestyle jacket instead of sizing up a normal fitted one. This gives me the look I wanted while still feeling functional when I'm actually skiing. Really happy with it.
So clean
Looks perfect with wider ski pants and doesn't tighten up around my waist while skiing.
Worth it
Does what I wanted and the loose fit is great.
The stone and black combo looks really nice against the snow.
The hood gives me good coverage when the weather gets bad and doesn't ruin the overall fit of the jacket.
Chairlift was getting hammered by wind the first day I wore this and I barely felt it coming through the jacket. That's where I noticed the biggest difference from my older shell.
The fit is wide, sleeves are roomy and the whole jacket hangs really well instead of looking like I just bought the wrong size.
The shell feels tougher than I thought it would and doesn't feel flimsy when the wind picks up.
A lot of ski jackets say relaxed fit and then barely feel different from a normal jacket. This one is properly loose. I can wear a thick hoodie underneath and still have ridiculous amounts of movement.
No pulling around my shoulders at all when doing grabs. That's exactly what I wanted from a freestyle jacket.
Definitely pay attention to the oversized style. I like baggy gear and even I was surprised by how loose my normal size was.
Stone colour is perfect
I've had it out during two days of pretty wet snowfall and stayed dry both times. Really impressed with the shell so far.
I've hit the ground pretty hard a few times wearing this and haven't managed to damage it yet. Seams and zippers still feel exactly like they did when it arrived.
I knew Harlaut stuff was supposed to fit loose but this is definitely wider than I pictured. I probably would've sized down if I ordered again. Performance has been really good though and I like everything else about it.
Just know you're buying a shell and plan your layers around that. I wore it with too little underneath on my first cold day and definitely regretted it. With a hoodie or proper midlayer it's been great.
No complaints
The loose cut is exactly what I wanted for park skiing. Tons of room through the arms and shoulders and it looks really good with baggy snow pants.
I mostly bought this because I loved the oversized stone and black look. Didn't really expect it to become the jacket I use every ski day. The shell blocks weather really well and because it's uninsulated I can wear completely different layers underneath depending on the day. I've used it during warmer park sessions and around -15°C with a heavy midlayer. Movement is probably my favourite part because there's basically zero restriction. I took a hard fall onto my shoulder last week and couldn't even find a scuff afterward. Really impressed with it.
It's a shell so I can change what's underneath depending on the temperature instead of overheating all day. Plenty of space for a hoodie or fleece without making it tight.
I've been pretty rough on this jacket already. Caught the sleeve lightly on a rail, landed on hardpack a bunch and spent half a day skiing through trees. No tears or busted seams anywhere. The shell has a much more substantial feel than the cheaper jackets I've owned. It's loose enough that I never notice it restricting me while skiing either.
I love the style and how much movement I get from it. Just don't expect insulation because on cold days you definitely need something warm underneath.
I wanted a shell because I would rather control the warmth with my own layers and this has worked perfectly. On warmer park days I just use a base layer and when it's freezing I throw a hoodie underneath. The jacket itself blocks wind really well and I've had no problem with snow getting through. The oversized shape also makes spins and grabs feel completely unrestricted. After several crashes around rails the fabric still looks good. Probably my favourite piece of ski clothing I've bought this season.
Favourite jacket this year
My favourite silhouette
I got caught in wet snow for basically an entire afternoon and expected to feel damp eventually but never did. Water was still beading off the outside when I got back to the car. I've also used it on a super windy chairlift day and the difference compared with my old jacket was obvious. Because there's no bulky insulation I can move around really easily in it. I just change the layers underneath depending on the weather. Really good setup for someone who spends most of the day doing park laps.
The thing I care about most is being able to move without my outerwear fighting me and this does that perfectly. Sleeves have plenty of room and the body has that proper oversized freestyle shape. I've probably put ten or eleven days on it already, mostly rails and jumps. It has been dragged across snow more times than I can count and still doesn't have any obvious damage. On really cold days I use a fleece and hoodie underneath and there's still room. On warmer days a thin base layer is enough for me. The versatility is probably why I keep choosing it over my other jackets.
stone looks insane
