I never realized how much heat I was losing through my old jacket until I switched to this. Chairlift rides are actually comfortable now.
looks unreal
The material, stitching and overall shape all feel really nice in person.
Looks clean and feels really warm.
The jacket has that proper loose shape instead of just being long. Looks really good with my park setup.
I expected the insulation to make it awkward when reaching for grabs but honestly I barely notice it. The loose fit gives the arms a lot of room.
Loose enough around my arms that I don't notice it when I'm doing grabs.
Warm and looks good, just heavier than the shells I'm used to.
I knew it was supposed to have a loose fit but my normal size was bigger than I wanted. Swapped down one size and I like it way more now. Still plenty baggy.
Really like the jacket but I wouldn't wear it once temperatures start getting mild. I tried it on a warm March afternoon and was roasting after a few runs. For actual winter weather it's excellent.
Warmth is ridiculous
The loose fit gives me tons of movement and the insulation means I don't have to wear three layers underneath. Really nice for cold chairlift days.
I can wear way less underneath this than my regular ski shell. Makes getting ready for the hill a lot easier.
The inside feels really comfortable and I don't need much underneath unless it's extremely cold.
I wanted something much warmer than my shell but didn't want to lose the oversized freestyle look. This basically checks both boxes. It's warm enough that most days I don't even bother with a hoodie underneath, but the cut still gives me plenty of room if I do want one. I've worn it for park laps, regular groomers and a few powder days and it's been comfortable everywhere. The jacket has also survived more falls than I want to admit without tearing. For me the only downside is that it becomes overkill pretty quickly on warm days. For proper winter skiing though it's easily one of my favourites.
I've mostly been saving this for the colder days because it gets seriously warm. Sitting on the chairlift in wind is way less miserable now. Still has enough room through the shoulders for park skiing.
I spent almost six hours outside in this during a cold February day and never had that point where I wanted to go inside just to warm up. That's rare for me. I started with a hoodie underneath but actually removed it after lunch because I was getting too warm. The puffer still gives me enough range of motion for rails and jumps which was my main concern. I've landed on it a few times and haven't ripped anything. The black also hides dirt and marks pretty well. Easily one of my most used jackets now.
I was worried a puffer this warm would feel huge while skiing but the fit actually works really well. It's roomy without stopping me from moving normally.
This has probably made the biggest difference when I'm sitting still between runs. My old jacket was fine while skiing but I would freeze on the lift. This keeps the heat in way better. I've used it down around -18ยฐC with a fleece underneath and stayed comfortable for hours. The wider cut also means the insulation doesn't make my arms feel stiff. After around nine days wearing it I haven't noticed feathers coming out or any stitching problems. Really happy with it.
The jacket itself is excellent but I would definitely check the sizing if you aren't used to freestyle fits. Mine was very loose at first. Once I exchanged it I loved it.
I usually ski with a hoodie under everything but the first time I wore this I got way too hot. Next day I went with a thin base layer and it was perfect. It was around -10 most of the afternoon and colder once the sun went down. I like that it's genuinely warm but still looks like freestyle outerwear instead of a huge expedition jacket. Movement is surprisingly good considering how puffy it is. Definitely staying in my rotation for cold days.
crazy warm
Exactly what I needed
The black looks super clean and the loose fit works perfectly with wider ski pants.
First day wearing this was around -16ยฐC and windy and I thought I'd need a thick hoodie underneath. Ended up using just a base layer and thin sweatshirt and was completely fine. The puffer has a really nice oversized shape too, not that super fitted look most insulated jackets have. I can still move my arms easily for grabs and spins. I've taken a couple falls in it and so far the outer material hasn't shown any damage. Black also goes with literally everything I own.
I've used this on normal winter days and also one absolutely freezing night session. The night session was where it really impressed me. Temperature dropped below -20ยฐC and with a good midlayer underneath I stayed comfortable even sitting on the chair. The fit is loose enough that adding that layer didn't make it feel cramped. I also like that the black design is simple and doesn't look overly technical. It's probably too warm for me once spring starts but for January and February it's exactly what I wanted.
Really good insulation
Finally a puffer that's actually warm without having that tight fitted look. Been wearing it for park laps with just a light layer underneath and I'm completely comfortable.
Great for deep winter
This is definitely a substantial jacket. It's warm and comfortable but I personally find it a little bulky when I'm doing a lot of park laps. Better for my colder relaxed ski days.
Winter favourite
Been using it mostly for evening park sessions when the temperature drops fast. I stay warm without needing a massive stack of layers.
